With the album delayed for whatever reason... I wonder if they missed the boat on booking the tour venues and can't come up with dates/locations that are logical. At this point a fall tour?

Nearly impossible to stop it. Many times it is actually a person posting the spam. For every one that posts 50 are caught before they get a chance. You should see the registration logs!

Could have happened when the site changed. resetting Safari would rule out your browser from causing the error.

I cannot recreate the issue on Safari with OSX 10.9.2. You could try resetting Safari. In Safari go to the SAFARI menu bar item > RESET SAFARI... > check everything then click RESET.
