  1. Petty's performance will mark a rare occasion where the veteran rocker is closely aligned with a corporate sponsor, in this case the North American arm of Japanese tire firm Bridgestone Corp, which has lent its name to the halftime event.

Petty, 57, is an outspoken opponent of sponsorship of rock concerts, and his last album with the Heartbreakers, 2002's "The Last DJ," was a pointed assault on corporate greed. His spokeswoman did not respond to a request for comment.

    oh snap

  2. I am probably a bit biased by being a fan, but it is an amazing guitar.

    Some thoughts:

    - It has a great weight distribution.

    - The fretboard maintains its radius pretty much through the entire length with very little tapering. Feels substantial but not overly thick like some Gibsons do. There is great clearance all the way up to the higher frets.

    - The tremolo system is mucho smooth and probably one of the best I have used.

    - The pickup setup is how I like them to be.. humbucker at the bridge and a single-coil at lead. (although I am not sure on the specifics of the Duesenberg-DP90.) Pretty versatile, but of course your amp & pedal setup is obviously the other half of the puzzle.

    - Overall fit and finish is amazing for the price. I couldn't be happier. If I could have just ONE item the band has put out this would be it.
