View Full Version : How to post photos?

When I tried to post photos, I chose the "Insert Image" button. The photo appeared while I was composing the post, but when I actually submitted it, all that appeared were the links to the images.
What am I doing wrong?

do this:
http://www.thelinktoyourimage.com
or click the IMAGE graphic when posting, put in the link, and hit ok.
make sure the site you are linking from allows linking to other sites... some are set up so they won't appear on sites other than their own.
also, post the link and i can try to post it.

Toni, with some pictures you can just click on copy then paste, doesn't this site use WYSIWYG?

I really love the feature of uploading more than one photo at a time. This will help during a tour.

get this, you can also upload zip files, and it uncompresses them and adds everything in the zip to the gallery.

What am I doing wrong? I'm inserting the image graphic and inserting the link but nothing happens. Also tried uploading pic's from my computer but nothing appeared.

looks like you are posting the link to the PAGE that the image is on. not the link to the image itself.
http://www.80srockphotos.com/fcWebApp/product_images/Mike-Campbell-fulljva.jpg
you can type that in ^ or click the IMAGE button and put in the link to the image.. not the page where the image is.

^ But, doesn't that only work with photos that are posted somewhere
on the web? Is there any way to post personal photos off of your
own computer?

It said the size exceeds the limit. It is just a 4x6 print. Help.

upload a photo with a lower resolution.
should be 72dpi and smaller than 800x600 pixels.

Anything I would want to download would be from my camera and I have no idea how to lower the resolution. Darn it.

Teresa, don't you have a photo program to view your pictures? I have one that came with my printer. I upload the photos to my computer and then resize them to 640x480. Seems to work for me.

ok, here's a new question. i've been uploading and posting pix from my puters running on windows XP. now, this new vista pc uploads fine, but will not post the pix, just a small box with the red X in it and it won't open either. is there a prob with this site and vista, or is it just me? everytime i want to post a pix, i have to go to my B/U pc running XP.

no that has nothing to do with vista vs. xp.
where are you uploading pix to? the gallery? or attachments to a post?
nurktwin

the gallery and some from websites using the jpg file to insert the pix. it works fine on XP, but not vista. could it be a security setting in vista?

ok, i see the problem. when i click the insert pix icon here, it already has the http:// in the pop up box. when i get properties of the new pix to post, it also has http:// and i was copying and pasteing the whole url. i just copyed the part after http:// and pasted it into the box and it works. hope you understand what i just said. XP didn't mind the 2 http's, i guess vista does.

there is no guarantee that images posted from other sites will work on this site. many sites block the ability to use their images.
image sites (such as image shack) are a safer bet.
or the best thing to do is save the image to your computer then upload it to the photo gallery here or upload it in your post via the manage attachments option.
