funny what goes on over there:

According to recent sources, Tom Petty recently reunited Mudcrutch in the summer of 2007. They have reportedly recorded 17 songs for a new release sometime in 2008.

I took it off because it is complete speculation.. but it is a fun thought. :D

17 songs!? I thought Tom liked the magic number 12. Must be rubbish! LOL!

Sometimes I wonder where they get their information from.

But it is a nice thought. :)

That's the thing about Wikipedia. Anyone can add information, can't they?

^ Yeah, you're right.

they can, but 99% of malicious edits are removed within minutes.

its a pretty good system. the only articles I wouldn't count on being reliable are the ones about political or controversial topics.

articles with lots of defacing get locked down too.

at least i own mudcrutch.com :) might be a good thing.

Well I DO hope it happens.. I just wish anonymous people don't come out of the shadows making claims with NO references.

Yeah, there's a bit thread about this over on the officials, all the usual know-it-alls claiming that it's legit etc. I don't know. Sounds damn weird to me.

Funny thing is, if true I am SURE the band would not want them blabbing about it. Yet people just can't shut their mouths. Would any true fan spills the beans publicly?

boggles my mind.

HAHAHA yeah I know. All the "in-crowd" blabbing lol. Makes me laugh.

Must be boredom just to make crap up to see what happens.

Well, a close friend of mine (a Nigerian Potentate) has first hand information regarding the new Mudcrutch album.

He said that if I kindly send him my banking account information and help him transfer a large sum of his recently deceased father's funds out of the country, he will not only give me a pre-release copy of the CD, but will also cut me in for 10% of his dearly departed father's funds........

Peace

Hope no one took my attempt at humor (above) wrong. I don't mean to question anyone's veracity, or cast aspersions about the project.

I guess I was trying to make fun of the info 'leaks' and all the 'double secret probation' B.S. All that stuff strikes me as pretty amusing.

I'm actually very excited to hear the CD.

As I said over on the other BBS, I think its good to get back to your roots once in a while.

Not sure why some are going 'agro' over this on the other BBS - hopefully thats over and done with. We all love music and I think we ought to be celebrating if there's new music 'in the pipe' and on the way.

So I'm posting this just in case my silly attempt at humor might have contributed to that cluster*uck of a thread over on the other BBS.

Now release that damn CD and lets spin that sucker up!

:)

I think whenever nothing is going on tpath-wise (tours and such) tensions run higher.

Tension?

What tension?

GrrrRRrrrRRRRRrrrRRR ..**Pop!!!**..

Lets see, in the past 6 or so Months we've had the HC Special Edition, the Traveling Wilbury's CD, There's a book coming, and a 4 hour documentary by one of the top film makers of our age, and now the promise of a new Mudcrutch CD.

Holy Crap. A tour might be the only thing left to calm down the BBS for a while other than getting everyone laid! :052:

We always need a tour, but we should let them have some time off shouldn't we? Naaaaa

emmie

Well, maybe Mudcrutch will tour next year. Should be alot easier to get tickets for those shows :003:

Revenue from a "Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers" tour > revenue from a "Mudcrutch" tour.

While a tour under the Mudcrutch moniker would be cool (esp for tickets, like you said) I could never see Tom departing from using the current band name for a tour.

I was just attempting humour.

:( I'm always so misunderstood LOL

Yes maybe they could play small venues instead of sheds - we'd all be in the front row since the majority of the general public would have no idea who Mudcrutch is.

Thats what I figured.

Mudcrutch
08-24-2007, 11:41 AM
oh no i definitely got it :)

you just got me thinking about the possibilities..

a small Vic-type series of shows under "Mudcrutch" would rock!
