Oh, I would be sooooo mad! It's not playing here anyway, but that would really get me if I was ready to go and then...NOT!

I don't think Petaluma, Ca is a biggie. They have No. Cal covered.

Sorry Ref. I would be very disappointed. About as disappointed as I am now because there is still no date for Houston!!!

The link they had up for Austin never did work, and going directly to the theater listed did no good either - they did not have the movie scheduled for 10/15.

Lol.. no, if I was making that up, I would have spelled it like "theater" :)
My guess is it's just one book, to one lucky person.. but who knows.
I'm also guessing that it's only at the theaters listed above that little box. I guess we'll find out tomorrow. Can't wait.

Glad you get to see this on the big screen Linda!

From a blog about todays NYFF showing...

... I couldn’t help but wonder what was wrong. When Bogdanovich took the stage for the Q&A, he immediately cleared this up: we were shown the movie in mono.
No wonder I felt underwhelmed; now I was livid. Apparently, there’s a “spectacular” 5.1 mix that would have “lifted [us] right of our seats,” but somebody somewhere fuc%ed up good.

I hate to hear that! I'm sure it was still outstanding, but to lose out on the sound like that? bummer :085:

Toni, hope you make it to the showing tomorrow night.

Sharon, I hope to see you in the crowd. It's been so long since I've seen anyone I hope I recognize you. You're the really pretty one, right?

Does anybody have an idea how early one should get to the theater? I want a good seat but I also don't want to sit around for an hour for no reason. Any ideas?

Why yes, that's me, LOL! I wouldn't worry about it Gatorlily. You'll know me when you see me.

I have no idea what time to get there but like you, I'd like a good seat. We'll most likely just play it by ear. When we arrive in the city we'll probably swing by the theatre and see what things are looking like then go from there.

Los Angeles wasn't sold out the last I looked on Saturday, but there was a full page ad in the LA Times yesterday so that will probably help sales.

We have an extra ticket for the LA show if anyone wants it. It will be a race through stop and go traffic for us to get there in time though.

Well whaddaya know, it's sold out in SF! I really didn't think it will sell out ANYWHERE in advance, except for Gainesville. I figured that only the Pettyheads would bother to buy advance tickets.

Have fun, everybody! :)

Freaking heck. I took my mom to get her flu shot on Saturday and they were pushing the Flu mist so I thought, what the heck, I'll get the mist. I woke up this morning sicker than a dog. My throat is closed up, nose congested, a little cough and I feel like a truck run me over a few times. I just can't see me driving all that way and back so I think I might have to miss this. I told my friend in SF that I would cancel for sure by 4:00 so everybody send me "get better" thought waves really hard.

I hope everyone has a good time tonight!

Nope, there was no book given away at our showing either. Only KFOG set up in the lobby giving away some sort of free cds or something like that. I don't know, but I signed up for it. Hope I win whatever it is, lol.

We had a fantastic time last night! The movie is brilliant! I enjoyed every minute of it! I found Danny during intermisson and there was room for him to come sit with us. I was up in the top row. I ended up sitting next to Keith, Tom's childhood friend. I have run into Keith many times over the years. He tells great stories. He's the guy who traded Tom his sister's box of Elvis 45's when they were kids.

The theater was about 3/4 full. There were reserved seats for the family and friends. Keith had a reserved seat but he didn't want to sit so low. He liked being up top. It was nice to have someone to chat with.

Randall Marsh was there and Tom's brother. I'm sure there were others I should have known too but couldn't place.

Here is the article and video of the premiere. I managed to stay out of the shot but I was there when the lady was looking at the book.

http://www.gainesvillesun.com/article/20071016/NEWS/710160329/1006/NEWS

I really wanted to go look at that book! I went up to a lady and asked if there was something special going on for the movie and she told me yes, it was for family and friends. She gave me the feeling that fans shouldn't be over in the area. And you see, they didn't interview any fans. That's just typical for us fans though. The fans are the last ones considered. It doesn't dampen my spirits. It's just an observation.

I'm off to Best Buy now to get the movie so I can watch it again!

AmyLou
10-16-2007, 09:58 AM
No book giveaway at our screening either... and I begged the manager for the one poster during intermission, which mysteriously was taken down during the second half of the film, and which they had all full of staples and such. He said D&D (the promoter?) wanted all materials back - but I think he realized he wanted it for himself :)

and damn! I had the weirdest Hertabreakers dreams! That's what crashing into bed after four hours of TPaTH will do for you! :)

I'm still nursing my Heartbreaker high . That film has been running and re-running through my head all day. Wow. Time to crawl into bed. I'm still loopy after just three hours sleep.

But I'd do it all again........in a Heartbreaker Heartbeat....... ;)

^ Get some rest kiddo!

Amylou, I was thinking about that today. They could have easily given away tons of those posters at these viewings. Like they did with The Vic shows. I mean c'mon, how hard would that have been?

Zombie Zookeeper
10-17-2007, 04:36 PM
Maybe they don't want the poster handed out b/c they'd rather you buy it from tp.com?? Just a guess... or Peter doesn't want them on Ebay?? I don't know.
The poster in Indy was taken down about 45 mins before the movie started. It was behind a glass case, so I know no one just grabbed it. I should have asked for it when I first arrived:(
