Marion - what a sweet photo - beautiful babies!
Nurk - you're a knucklehead! :icon_laugh: My hubby hasn't stopped laughing.
This "night bloom" photo was taken in my sister-in-law's garden. It's a flowering cactus and she held a flash light behind the bloom to get the effect. Reminds me of a sci-fi movie ...

We have a pair of Great Horned Owls living in the trees around our house! We can hear the hooting inside the house faintly. It's very cool. When we take the dogs out at night, we have seen them fly off. Its wingspan must be 4 feet! They hide very well during the daylight. I have looked and looked during the day and never see a thing. The other night we thought we might have heard babies. Hopefully, they teach them how to fly at night...when these dogs are inside in their beds. Here is a professional photo of one:

One of the owls came down from the tree this morning! We have only seen this one and are not sure if the other one is still in the nest or what. No dogs outside off leash today. In the second picture, he saw me and puffed himself up and was making this clicking sound at me. I got the hell out of there after I snapped it. Beth, here is my Cranesbill (perennial geranium). It was planted about 4 years ago and was a tiny little plant. It has also spawned several volunteers. It loves the afternoon sun. I am redoing this planting area. Taking out cypress mulch...ugg...removing landscape fabric and putting down some cotton burr compost.

http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg228/KansasPettyFan/P5250697.jpg
This is two kinds of Clematis growing on a ginger jar. We don't know why but every year after they bloom, they die back to the ground and come back later in the summer. Some kind of wilt disease I guess. Fingers crossed for this year.

This has a few annuals in it but that trailer with the blue flowers is something I have not seen before. It is called Anagallis, Wildcat Blue. They look purple but they are actually the prettiest shade of cobalt blue. I haven't seen anything like them. They've grown a lot already. :)

These are my Nikko Blue hydrangeas. Depending on the PH of the soil, they are either pink or blue. Somehow, we pulled of pink, blue and lavender. They look like a watercolor painting.

Okay, here is one of the blueberry bushes...I have five.
http://www.mudcrutch.com/photos/data/500/medium/img249.jpg
Hard to see now but my husband made a new trellis for me for the back of this tiny garden shed. I did have a wooden green stained one he made...but it was starting to rot. The solution? I thought copper! So he made this one out of copper pipes, lol....it works and will never rot....that is an autumn clematis that blooms so much in September, very fragrant, too...also sweet peas and baby's breath. This was taken a few weeks ago...
http://www.mudcrutch.com/photos/data/500/medium/img247.jpg
My sweet Smokey loves to be with me when I walk the gardens....he sometimes takes time off and rolls in the grass....that ferny stuff you see is asparagus....again, so much has grown now. This was taken a few weeks before my trip....

^ You're welcome. That cherry tree isn't too tall so most of them we get with a step ladder, the very top goes to the birds. lol This has been a great year for everything. Last year we had a late freeze so there was no fruit on any of the trees, no hydrangeas, boring year. lol
Beth, your Smokey is soooo cute in his yard! hehe And I love the vines behind your shed. I didn't know there was a clematis with fragrance. What variety is it? Mmmm...blueberries. We tried those twice and they died. Booooo! We have blackberries coming as well. Gotta have a blackberry (I call it a purple cow) milkshake or two. Yum!

A long time ago my husband and I went to Pawley's Island off the coast of South Carolina for a vacation with his family. He and his brother & dad would go out fishing in the surf and spend so much time trying so hard to catch something, when a majestic osprey would come cruising out from land, get out over the water, turn right & cruise a minute, drop into the water and come up with a large fish. Poor hubby and guys would go green with envy not only at what he caught but how quickly he caught it!
