Just wondering, do we have any drummers out there on the Farm? If so, do any of you drummers know how to play tabla?

And I will be getting a drum set after I move next summer :)

So I guess that is a no from me for now... but i am looking for suggestions on what to get.

Hmm, Muddy--I have always been partial to Ludwig drums, but Slingerlands are good, too. (You are gonna have so much fun!)

Gatorfan, are you saying your son plays tabla or that he knows what drums to recommend?

Oh, WOW! I am so impressed! I love the way tabla sound, but oh man is it hard to learn all the "notes" and the proper way to strike the drums! Your son rocks!

i play drums and i have ludwig. i also bought a set of roland V-series electronic drums to record with. they are quiet, so you can play them all night without waking anyone. i have never tried to play tabla.

If you ever get the urge to drive yourself stinkin' CRAZY, give tabla a go!
