have you read this review? if not, it's here (http://www.insidebayarea.com/music/ci_8930959)
i just wanted to register to be able to say the following in response to it--
if TPHB announced a concert in which they'd only play material from 'the last dj' or 'highway companion' i'd travel far and wide to be in attendance. not that i wouldn't for a conventional TPHB show, but i think you know what i mean.
additionally, if mudcrutch were playing the bowl instead of the troubadour, and petty was on his usual guitar instead of bass, and i had a ticket in the last row, i'd still excitedly drive the several hours to be there. take that, "novelty factor".

They are crazy!!! Mudcrutch has by far been one of the best shows I have seen this year! I think almost everyone who has got to attend one of the shows would agree.

^ I know I would agree. These shows are amazing! I've come to the conclusion that some people are just never going to get it.

Never met Jim Harrington before but based upon this one review I strongly suggest he find a good audiologist and get his hearing checked.

HAHAHA....I remember this guy. The music isn't good enough for him...lol I remember his Greek shows review only because it was in our local paper. He didn't like them. I'm starting to feel sorry for him... He really suffers..lol. (If you Google his other reviews, you can see the pattern...lol) What a waste of a ticket.
I'm glad there was a cool review in other Bay Area paper, San Jose Mercury News. They rock.

Haha I actually enjoyed reading that! Just for the fact that I thought and felt the complete opposite of everything that he said, exept for a few little things.

Why do even reviews if you're just going to bash every artist or band? :icon_rolleyes:

I guess it makes them feel superior?? I hate reviewers like him, because you can't trust them if they pan everything or even if they like everything. Just give a good honest review!

Things like these you take with a grain of salt. Maybe in his opinion, he gave a "good honest review", and isn't that what any review is, just that "person" s opinion ? I can remember some of the beach boys reviews over the years, some good, some great, some really bad ones.....the problem is when the general public starts believing them, and they tell someone else what they read, and before ya know it the band has a bed rep going on. Now from this review someone might tell another, oh I heard the guy petty is playing with can't sing very well.....and from there it just gets going....but in that review it said that Tom was having a great time and enjoying himself, which I think was the main purpose of this whole thing. I would love to hear "last DJ and Highway companion" performed live, I liked those songs. So right there this guy and I have different tastes. It will be interesting to hear reviews of the Cd, after all the hype is over with, and people have a chance to really listen. Its like with any CD, when it first comes out, people say its the best in years, then when the next one comes out, people say oh its better than the last one, which wasn't to good !! Go figure.

It's rather obvious he went in with "false expectations". He admits this in the review and expected a few hits. That alone would cause his mental cramps. Perhaps he couldn't read the ticket stub as to who was actually playing? He'd proably go to a Crowded House concert and expect to hear music by Split Enz.
Numbskull + close minded = waste of a ticket.
