Well thats it. We play from 8 to 12.
I'm playing bass the first set (Hofner Beatle bass)
Playing Rhythm ( Gretsch Tenn., & accoustic gtr.) and keys the 2nd

Rickenbacker 12 string and keys on the 3rd set.
Keys and guitar ( Gibson SG ) 4th set.
Plus if we have any requests, if we know 'em, we'll do 'em.
Anyway we are looking to have some fun. The gtr player is a great player, and we haven't worked together since 1987 when we were travelin around the country giging. My 82 year old Mother is coming out to dance, along with several friends and cousins, and etc. My daughter and her Bf, who happens to be the son of the other bass player/gtr player are also coming out. All 4 us sing, and we hope to have fun. These guys so far a great bunch to hang out with.
Peace to all !!

We had a great first night, and people danced to every song. It was like a dream come true, we couldn't had asked for more. We ended up doing several songs that we had never done before, cause they were crowd requests.
"little deuce coupe", "the loco-motion", "one night", "proud mary", "wipe out",
"margaritaville", "for the good times".........Before we started the gtr player heard an older gentleman tell his wife "I have esp I , their first song is going to be Release Me " Well we had planned on opening with "pink cadillac" but just to make this ole guy wonder, I announce " We seem to have a compelling urge to start with "release me" , so thats what we did , and all the over 60 crowd packed the dance floor !! We got free drinks all night, but we also had a few shots bought for us. So it was quite an amazing night. It felt good, cause by the end of night all the guys in the group were still having a great time. I have been in bands before that by the end of the night ya wonder why you're even playing with these guys. Anyway this cute 30 something blonde bartender told the drummer that we were "f*ck*** awesome" which is always a good sign that people like you. The main man at this Moose club that we were at said that they haven't had the dance floor packed like this in a long time and that they would have us back. Like I said it was the most wonderful night !! Our next gig is in two weeks when we play about an hour away from where we live in a small town called Jonesville. We can't wait. I'm thinking about doing "yer so bad" by TP. Would people think that neat ? I've always liked that song and I think people would like it. In an unrelated note, this other site that I go to that is beatle/ british invasion oriented site, you can post your songs, well I sent them to my recording bands my space page, and the reviews of my 3 songs there have been very positve. One guy said my one song was the byrds reincarnated and another guy said he thought one song was a combination dylan / Tom Petty influenced !! I thought that was neat, cause thats what I was aiming at.
Well gotta get back to work, building shelves for the wife and she is a real task master.
peace

thanks for your comments. My brother and his wife were there, as were my niece and her husband. My daughter and the son of the bass player/ gtr player go together and they were both there. We did "mr.spaceman" for the son, cause he liked it as a boy. We did "96 tears and mustang sally" for my daughter. We did "photograph" for all the men and women serving our country, and we did "don't let the sun catch you crying" for my sister in law.
We did "proud mary" for my neice. We also did " I don't know why I love you but I do" for my mother (who will be 82 this June ) We did "bottle of wine" for her friend who makes home made wine !! It was quite a night, and I forgot all my troubles while I was there !! LOL
