I did once years ago. Every time I tried after that they won't take it because I'm slightly anemic.

One time several years ago. Like Christine, I'm diabetic and they won't take your blood.

I used to give regularily, and got my 1 gallon pin. But lately, I've been pretty selective about to whom I donate. The Red Cross is fine, but up here we also have the Puget Sound Blood Supply-- and they're run for profit. I got fed up with them calling me every few months and pestering me to donate. The Red Cross would never do that.

I do on occasion. I used to do it a lot when the blood mobile came to work but the plant manager put a stop to it when people were feeling dizzy going back to work. He didn't want anyone dizzy around the machinery. Sad thing is, I think one person ruined it for a the rest. I think the dude was just trying to get out of work! :jpshakehead:

Yes, but it's been a while. My blood pressure is so low that it takes forever to get a pint from me, so it's really an ordeal.

Yes, it has been a while for me, too.
You all are so good. I'm the kid the doctors and nurses had to hold down to give a shot. Usually took 3 to hold me down once they caught me. I almost passed out when went with boyfriend 25 years ago and saw needle. So nope.

No. It's a great idea, but I hate needles and there's too much gunk in my blood anyway.

No, I don't like needles. I wish I wasn't such a chicken, but since I have a tattoo I don't think I can anymore.

I used to donate very regularly as I have a fairly rare blood type. But nowadays they won't take my blood. And no! It's not because it's practically 100% proof LMAO.. it's because there have been too many leukemia instances in my family and it's a risk factor (even though they keep insisting it's not hereditary!) Uh huh, whatever.

Nope, and I've tried twice. Once, I had just been sick, and the second time I had started a new medication, which I still take, and they say you can't donate on that medication. My fiance' also has Hep C, though with treatments it's supposedly now non-detectable, but I think that makes me a risk, anyway. Seems like it's just not meant to be.:085:
