Dirty Knobs mentioned on Q107 Toronto Radio Station

Wow! That was a first for me. I'm sitting at my desk in Toronto, listening to local rock radio station, Q107 - when the D.J. (and musician Kim Mitchell comes on) He says that coming up is a Tom Petty song, and BY THE WAY, the guitarist Mike Campbell is currently voted #50 on the listener voted Best Guitarists of All Time, or whatever it is called.

THEN, Kim Mitchell goes on to mention Mike's OTHER band The DIRTY KNOBS and what they're about, their influences, such as The Kinks and so on.

I never thought I'd hear about the Dirty Knobs on a Toronto radio station. Way to go Q107!:)

Well, Kim Mitchell is actually a guy - he is a very accomplished musician, guitarist in his own right. Quite popular in Canada. His biggest hits were 'Patio Lanterns' and 'All We Are' - he has a myspace page. If you go to the Q107 Toronto website and tool around, Kim Mitchell even has his own 'Guitar Lessons' that he uploaded video lessons. ....So I guess he is obsessed with seeking out the best Guitar Talent Out There....so maybe that explains the Mike/Dirty Knobs mention.

I saw Kim perform at a free outdoor concert years ago in Peterborough...he is a very talented guitar player and yes...very thin, lol. Very cool that he mentioned Mike and The Dirty Knobs :icon_cool:
