I'm just not that fashion conscious. Besides all the little trendy fashion experts say that's a fashion myth. Like I care. http://www.mudcrutch.com/honeybees/images/smiles/icon_rolleyes.gif (javascript:emoticon(''))

I know it's silly, but I do notice. It's one of those things I remember from childhood.

I think you can wear white anytime in Florida. Who thought up that dumb rule anyway?

Anything goes in Florida! I remember that rule, too, but if the weather is hot and I want to wear white, I do it.

I think its an outdated rule....you can wear white whenever as far as I'm concerned. Just don't spill your ketchup on it!

Some things, yes...it is still summer-ish here and my daughter wore white leather flip flops to school...I think age plays into it too...and the 'Idontgiveashit' factor works for me...

I always wear white after Labor Day... nothing like a pair of white jeans and a baby blue sweater in the winter!

There's a rule about this?

Does nail polish count? I usually go towards the darker colors (plums, browns, eggplant) after Labor Day. During the summer I usually wear pinks, lilacs and sometimes red.

Back in the day, it wasn't proper to wear white after Labor Day. White was only acceptable during the summer. It was a rule that once summer ended (Labor Day), you had to wear darker colors like taupe, browns, ect).
White is a shade that reflects warmth rather than attract it. If you wear darker colors in the fall and winter, you feel warmer than if you wore white.
If anyone wears white in NYC, 2 things will happen:
1) They will freeze their asses off during the winter
2) They're clothes would be filthy

Wear what you want, when you want I reckon.

Why not? I always thought that rule just applied to shoes. Who really cares? lol

In this day and age, does it really matter?
I don't usually wear white anyway. With my hips, white makes them appear to go on forever -like a typical hot Texas summer. That said, wear what you want. I'll wear patent leather shoes after Labor Day. They travel well.
