1. Twelve percent of Americans say they have never had someone of a different race in their home. Have you had someone of a different race in your home? Have you been in the home of someone of a different race? - Hell, I am a 'different race' myself, lol. Yes, to both questions.
2. When asked if they think gay people are actually born gay (as opposed to “choosing” to be gay, 51% say that homosexuality is something one is born with. Do you agree? - Yes, I think you are born that way, and there is nothing wrong with that.

Would you? - There is no such thing as the perfect body. If you can't be happy with yourself from within, losing weight or gaining it isn't going to change that. No, I would not leave my husband if he gained weight. How shallow...if a relationship is based on body image.
4. This question was originally asked only of women, and 54% said they’d prefer to watch the Super Bowl over the Academy Awards. Which would you pick and why? - The Academy Awards. I love movies, so this is right up my alley.

6. A popular potato chip’s ad slogan says, “Once you pop, you can’t stop.” But 39% of Americans claim that they can stop at just one chip. Are you one of them? - Depends. If I am trying to prove something, I can do it, but if not....why bother just eating one? :003:

6. A popular potato chip’s ad slogan says, “Once you pop, you can’t stop.” But 39% of Americans claim that they can stop at just one chip. Are you one of them - Well good for them, but I'm not one of them. In fact add some dip and I'm in heaven.

Ooooo......good questions!!
1. Twelve percent of Americans say they have never had someone of a different race in their home. Have you had someone of a different race in your home?
yes.
Have you been in the home of someone of a different race?
yes...Actually, I live with someone of a different race.........and culture.
2. When asked if they think gay people are actually born gay (as opposed to “choosing” to be gay, 51% say that homosexuality is something one is born with. Do you agree?
I don't know how much of it is nature or environment. I think people are happier when they are true to themselves.
3. Given our society’s obsession with the “pefect body,” the number might be expected to be higher, but 33% of Americans say they’d leave their partner if he or she gained 100 pounds. Would you?
I bet most of the 33% were men. My friend's husband has said to her "I want a thin wife."
I wouldn't leave my partner but, I would worry a lot about his health. A hundred pounds would shorten a person's life significantly -- maybe 10-20 years. It contributes to so many health problems -- heart disease, diabetes, etc. If I loved the person, I'd help him get healthy.
4. This question was originally asked only of women, and 54% said they’d prefer to watch the Super Bowl over the Academy Awards. Which would you pick and why?
It has been so long since I've seen either of those programs. If the food and company was good, it wouldn't matter to me.
5. We hear a lot these days about protecting the institution of marriage. It couldn't hurt, but I don't think it would change the divorce statistics.

I don't know the ad. Is it like the old one..."You can't eat just one." I think it's the salt in the chips.

For the most part, yes. Some people just experiment for fun.
3. Given our society’’s obsession with the “pefect body,” the number might be expected to be higher, but 33% of Americans say they’d leave their partner if he or she gained 100 pounds. Would you?
This question is more complicated than it seems on the surface. Unless it was caused by a medical condition, gaining that much weight would probably signal a deeper psychological or emotional issue that could certainly test the marriage I would think.
4. This question was originally asked only of women, and 54% said they’d prefer to watch the Super Bowl over the Academy Awards. Which would you pick and why?
Hmm, I love both shows. The Super Bowl for the commercials (and, it's perfectly acceptable to drink beer all day, lol) but I love the gowns at the Oscars.
It's a toss-up.

I think it is a GREAT idea to undergo counseling before marriage, but it should not be "required" by the government!

3. Given our society’’s obsession with the “pefect body,” the number might be expected to be higher, but 33% of Americans say they’d leave their partner if he or she gained 100 pounds. Would you? I think that's shallow. I might be worried sick about them, depending on the reason for the weight gain, or really, just because of the weight gain, but I wouldn't leave them. I have a very good friend who's far more overweight than that, and I worry about her alot. She got down thinner than I am for over a year, but her mom's been sick and she's put more than half the weight back on, so far. It's also not the first time she's yo-yo'd. I seriously wonder how long her heart can hold out.
4. This question was originally asked only of women, and 54% said they’d prefer to watch the Super Bowl over the Academy Awards. Which would you pick and why? I don't understand, and therefore don't like, or care, about football, so I'd definitely choose the Oscars.
5. We hear a lot these days about protecting the institution of marriage. Oddly enough, that phrase is generally used in efforts to prevent people who love each other and want a committed relationship from actually getting married. Fifty percent of Americans say that it would be a good idea to require couples eligible for marriage to undergo marriage counseling before they can walk down the aisle. Is this a good idea or a bad idea? It can be a good idea, but some counselors are more screwed up than the people they treat. I've seen some beauts in my day, and so I've learned to work through my own problems, relationship- or otherwise!
6. A popular potato chip’s ad slogan says, “Once you pop, you can’t stop.” But 39% of Americans claim that they can stop at just one chip. Are you one of them? Usually. But one chip isn't supposed to be filling, so what's the point? It's like having one cheeto or pretzel or one piece of popcorn. You're not REALLY supposed to eat just one!

1. Twelve percent of Americans say they have never had someone of a different race in their home. Have you had someone of a different race in your home? Have you been in the home of someone of a different race? Yes and yes. The 12% have lived a very sheltered life.
2. When asked if they think gay people are actually born gay (as opposed to “choosing” to be gay, 51% say that homosexuality is something one is born with. Do you agree? Yes, except for Anne Heche, lol.
3. Given our society’’s obsession with the “pefect body,” the number might be expected to be higher, but 33% of Americans say they’d leave their partner if he or she gained 100 pounds. Would you? That's very shallow. No.
4. This question was originally asked only of women, and 54% said they’d prefer to watch the Super Bowl over the Academy Awards. Which would you pick and why? Both are incredibly boring to me, but I'd choose football over any awards show (unless TPATH were on it, of course).

Fifty percent of Americans say that it would be a good idea to require couples eligible for marriage to undergo marriage counseling before they can walk down the aisle. Is this a good idea or a bad idea? good idea, but not practical - like who is policing the counselors? I'd also like to force people to go through some kind of course at the very least before they can have kids... but I'm dreaming there...
