ATLANTA, Nov. 16 -- Premier Exhibitions, Inc. today announced that Bodies Revealed will open December 1st at the new Bodies Revealed Exhibition Center on 2040 Alta Arden Way in the heart of Sacramento, California. The Exhibition features real, whole and partial body specimens that have been meticulously dissected and preserved through an innovative process, giving visitors the opportunity to view the complexity of their own organs and systems like never before.

"As the first Northern California engagement for our bodies exhibitions we look forward to presenting Bodies Revealed in the capitol city and continuing our remarkable success," said Bruce Eskowitz, president and CEO of Premier Exhibitions, Inc. "Visitors will have the opportunity to view a beautifully designed, groundbreaking exhibition that will leave them inspired to make healthier and more educated lifestyle choices."

The Exhibition takes visitors through galleries providing an up-close look inside the skeletal, muscular, reproductive, respiratory, circulatory and other systems of the human body.

Many of the whole body specimens are dissected in athletic poses, allowing the visitor to relate to everyday activities. In addition, authentic human specimens illustrate the damage caused to organs by over-eating and lack of exercise. A healthy lung is featured next to a black lung ravaged by smoking in a vivid comparison more powerful than any textbook image.

Premier Exhibitions, Inc is a major provider of museum quality touring exhibitions throughout the world.

These are actual cadavers that were donated to science. That might gross out the average person but I think it's an excellent learning opportunity for the public. Of course being in the medical profession I find this so fascinating. I'm definitely going to check it out while it's here. It's my understanding that it will be traveling to cities all over the country.
Here's their website. Check it out...

I find this very interesting myself, but I don't know if I could handle this.

If you go, Sharon...let us know how it is.

That exhibit has been here in S.D. for a couple of years now. I keep telling
myself I want to go, but then chicken out. People that have seen it say
it's INCREDIBLE!

That exhibit is coming here too. I think it would be fascinating. In the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago they have a human body that is sliced. It's cool.

Poor kid, he'll probably never be the same. On the other hand, he might look back and remember that day when he becomes a doctor, lol.

Hmmmmm....they're having a free afternoon for teachers coming up. I'm not sure if I want to go yet, but free is always nice. There was a big write up today in the Bee about the exhibition.

I've seen something very similar to this at a museum in Chicago. The exhibit was called Body Works. It is a trip! It's neat but really disgusting. I think everyone should see it.

The exhibit was just here in Ohio. I know some people who went, and they said it was pretty neat.

My daughter who is a dancer/instructor had to take body mechanics as a part of her curriculum for her dance degree. She went to the exhibit here in Atlanta and was FASCINATED. She said no book or chart illustrations--no matter how detailed--could ever show the inter-workings of the human body like actually seeing the inside of one. For someone who works in medicine or fitness this is a must see!

This was one of mine and my girlfriend's first dates. We saw the exhibit in ATL and thoroughly enjoyed it.
