It’s time to toot your own horn! What have you accomplished lately?

Well I don't know if it deserves much tooting but I recently sorted out most of my cds. It was a huge undertaking but I did it. Believe me, for me that's major.

Love my fellow vegatarians!

I recently walked 60 miles in 3 days to raise money and awareness for breast cancer. But so did a bunch of other people :)

I found out why they scheduled the children's appointments on my days at the clinic. Apparently I'm only one that can draw their blood. Last week I had a ton of kids at the lab.

Very good for those losing lbs ! Good to raise money or anything for those in need !
music related I've been recording a song and I'm almost finished with it. My cover band dropped a member, but the new replacement guy fits in better so far, and our first gig with him is on Dec.7.
Personally getting ready to celebrate 10 years of marriage...
and I've been working on trying to get some answers from my home state on paternity laws. I was told earlier this year that a daughter that I had sole custody of since before she was 3, is not mine and that a mistake was made on the birth certificate. We have been estranged for over a year and a half, and I want answers from my state but they all seem to be complacent, like oh, well to bad, mistakes happen. I've talked to the governor's office, and the attorney general, and will be shopping for a lawyer real soon. I've also have sent letters to my rep's in state congress. So its taken awhile to get over the depression and thank god that I've had music to get me through the hard times, plus having the responsibilities and love of my other children (25, 4, and 2 1/2 ). Oh well , its great to come here and talk about music. Several of TP's songs give me strength to carry on. , I won't back down.....,the one that goes, I'm Taking Control of My life and Walls........somedays are diamonds !!! Peace

I finished writing four books at work. If I do say so myself, one in particular was probably my best work in years. :)

I've also been reading like a maniac. In the past week, I've finished "Game of Shadows" and "Overtreated," and am just diving into Anthony Bourdain's "A Cook's Tour."

After 10 years of being out of the work force, I got a job! It pays extremely well and has some nice benefits. Still learning and having good days and bad days, but, that's part of the whole package.

I, along with my brother's help, have nursed my mother back from literally near death. When those infections hit her and landed her in the hospital for nearly a month... I honestly thought we'd be losing her soon. I only have said that to my brother and my brother-in-law and emmie.. 'til now.
But, with our strength and perserverance this woman has made is just incredible.

Barnburner

{{{Patty}}} That is truly a miracle.

I keep being told that I kinda kept the family together throught both my parents' health problems, but, as far as I'm concerned, all I did was drive the car. :icon_redface:

Like Toni, I've also been reading like crazy: Donna Fliesher's "Homeland Heroes" series (inspirational fiction for people who don't normally like inspirational fiction :p), Anthony Hope's Zenda novels, A Room with a View and Howard Pyle's Book of Pirates, all within a month.

Oh, and I'm now the fastest two-finger typist on the coding floor. And I've coded so many invoices I can now type "for professional services rendered" with my eyes closed - a dubious achievement if ever there was one.

Wow! Everybody is so focused and accomplished! I am proud of everyone. I feel like I need to get busy!

I am in the process of backing up all of the photos and music torrents stored on my PC and organizing them.

Ref - Congratulations on the job!

(((Patty))) - so glad to hear that your mother is doing better.
