You know you have them... those movies that supposedly everyone has seen.. or movies that everyone seems to love.. but when you mention to someone you haven't seen them or hated a particular movie, they think you're from another world!
Let me begin..
"Gone With The Wind" ~ Have never seen it, nor do I have any desire to see it. Sue me...lol.
I have not seen ANY of The Godfathers, and let me say, this is one I can't believe myself I have never seen. I don't know why. But, I DO plan on seeing the first one at least, one day.
Never saw "It's A Wonderful Life" until about 5 years ago... I hated it! LOL! Only thing I liked about that movie was the last 15 mins. or so.
"Pulp Fiction" ~ Hated it. Rented it one night and after about 45 mins., got up and started cleaning my apartment, lmao.
Never saw any of The Lord Of The Rings movies, and do not intend to.
Same with Harry Potter.
"Star Wars," bleh. I only saw the first one because it was mandatory when that first came out. Didn't like it, so why would I go see any others?
Ok, I'm drawing a blank now... but I know there are tons more.. I'll be back. LOL!!!

Never saw the last 3 Star War movies. Never saw any other Harry Potter movie after the first two.
Love The Godfather I and II, but hated III.
My list is VERY long, lol.

I've only seen the first Harry Potter film, and it was alright to me. I didn't like it enough to watch the other ones.
Gone With the Wind - Tried to watch it because mom told me it was a great film. I ended up falling asleep halfway through it.
Never seen The Godfather, nor do I want to.

Patty, I love this thread.
Okay, I'll probably get stoned (not the good one) but I thought the Pirates Of Caribbean movies were just okay, they're not all that. And by the way, I'm not all that thrilled with Johnny Depp.
I loved the first Shrek movie, but the rest need to go away.
The English Patient. All I can say is thank you Elaine for validating my feelings about that stupid movie.
Gone With the Wind should have been gone a long time ago. I hate that movie.
And that stupid ass movie Moulin Rouge! Heads should have rolled in Hollywood for that castastophe!
Harry Potter, I've only seen one and that was enough for me.

Ok another one I wasn't thrilled with... "A Christmas Story." *Ducking*
I know, I know... I saw it for the first time last year.. couldn't wait to see what all the hoopla was about. TBS I think it was, ran it non stop Christmas weekend. I didn't hate it. I just thought "Ehhh, it was ok."

I need to see A Clockwork Orange, I'd probably like it.
I hated the Libertine. It has Johnny Depp in it, but it was just weird and incredibly sexual. He contracted syphylis so his nose fell off, and then he wore a silver nose. Creepy!

I try to like the Three Stooges, but I just find them annoying.
I don't think It's A Wonderful Life is so wonderful.
I have only seen one of the Harry Potters, I think. (And haven't read any of the books.)
There are a lot of recent movies that I don't care for: that remake of Romeo and Juliet with Leonardo DiCaprio and Clare Danes. Stuff like Basketball (my boys love it), and Jackass. Moulin Rouge - didn't like that one. I am sure there are more.

I thought "Unforgiven" sucked. I don't care if it did win Best Picture; it was still a western. LOL.
Patty Petty
11-23-2007, 12:40 PM
Oh I like the Jackass shows and movie, lol. I just think people doing stupid things to themselves is amazingly funny.
On a different note... I watched "Psycho" last night for probably the 300th. time, still scares the hell out of me. Such a classic. No huge blood and gore flick, like most horror movies today... but still, so well done. They don't make them like that anymore. And God, how young Anthony Perkins was in that. I say that everytime I watch it, but he was! LOL! Such a baby! And a cutie, too! Hell, I might have gotten sucked into The Bates Motel, too! :003:

11-23-2007, 03:14 PM

Once Upon A Time In America. I usually like mob movies, and I love the actors in this film, but this film did nothing for me.

Jim Carrey ROCKS!!! :D:D:D
Okay, I'll probably get stoned (not the good one) but I thought the Pirates Of Caribbean movies were just okay, they're not all that. And by the way, I'm not all that thrilled with Johnny Depp.
Yeah, I didnīt watch the last movie but all the others. I think that movie just gets so much attention because of Johnny Depp. I like him, heīs a good actor and the character heīs playing is damn funny, loool! But as soon as everybody gets obsessed with a certain movie or actor, I get uninterested.
And that stupid ass movie Moulin Rouge! Heads should have rolled in Hollywood for that castastophe!
Lol, that movie is weird and confusing! Normally I hate it when they are singing during a film, but somehow I liked some parts in that movie. I like sad films and the ending is so damn sad, I cried so hard, lol!
Harry Potter, I've only seen one and that was enough for me.
I watched one of those films about 20 min. and that was just because I had nothing else to do, lol. Iīve also never read any HP books. I just hate the hype about Harry Potter. :095:
Same with Lord of the Rings. Never watched any of those movies and Iīm glad, that I donīt have to. :003:

Oh yes, the remake of Romeo and Juliet!!....for me Romeo will always be Leonard Whiting.....sigh........and Juliet, Olivia Hussey....I was so excited to see that movie!! I bought the soundtrack and know every word!! That is what got me into wanting to read Shakespeare.....
Wingspan91089

^ The one with DiCaprio in it? Ugh, what a terrible film! We had to watch that one a few years ago when we read Romeo and Juliet.

I have never, and will never watch Titanic or Brokeback Mountain.
I have never seen Caddyshack or Coming To America... only parts of both, and I have no interest in seeing the rest.
I borrowed my mom's sealed copy of The Passion Of the Christ about what seems 2 years ago, and it is still sealed, sitting next to my tv. One day.. one day.
And unfortuneatley, I bought this movie when it first came out on DVD, but for some reason I still have never seen Schindler's List. I definitely want to though... I did buy it after all. I really hate movies with subtitles, regardless of how good it is. Somehow I got through Babel, which was an excellent movie, but way too many subtitles. I guess I'm always doing other things while I watch movies.
Recently though, I have been trying to watch movies that I had never seen but always heard about. like... ROOTS, DELIVERANCE, and some that I can't think of right now.
I have always enjoyed these animated kids/family movies, so it's a shame that I have to put Cars on my to NEVER watch list. I have officially boycotted anything with Larry the Cable Guy. At first I found him humerous, but that lasted maybe a month and now I can't stand to even hear his voice. I hear it's a good movie though.
