Veteran pop idol Tom Jones (http://www.livedaily.com/artists/832.html) has lined up dates well into next year for a US tour, which looks to launch after the singer puts his latest extended Las Vegas engagement to bed.

The British-born, Los Angeles-based icon will get the outing rolling in earnest with a Feb. 12 show in El Paso, TX. The Jones caravan winds its way around the country through February and March, taking the singer through a variety of casinos in Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana before heading north for a Midwestern stretch.

After two months of hiatus following a March 17 show in Hankinson, ND, the trek concludes with a Pacific Northwest leg in late May that expands into a full-blown tour of the western Canadian provinces, winding down two weeks later in June. Dates are listed below.

The singer's most recent album, 2004's "Tom Jones & Jools Holland," pairs him with another UK star. The set finds the Welsh pop idol and the former Squeeze keyboardist and current host of the British music program "Later with Jools Holland" tackling a hodgepodge of classic and not-so-classic material, including "St James' Infirmary Blues," "Good Morning Blues/One O'Clock Jump" and Howlin' Wolf's "200lbs of Heavenly Joy."

Jones' recording career dates back almost 40 years, and got off to a fast start with the mid-'60s hits "Delilah," "It's Not Unusual" and "What's New Pussycat," among others.

In the mid-'80s, Jones enjoyed a commercial resurgence for his cover of the Prince single "Kiss," followed by a second comeback after his 2000 album "Reload"--which featured 15 cover versions and two originals recorded as duets with currently popular artists--became the biggest-selling disc of his career, reaching No. 1 on the British album charts and selling more than six million copies worldwide.
